LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Every day we look in our mirrors. We take care of our appearance to boost our confidence and feel prepared and ready for whatever the day may bring. How often, though, do we take the time to reflect on our inner selves? To find in that mirror a deeper understanding of our authentic self in order to groom and nurture her?
This issue of Star Lee Magazine is all about the Authentic You. We have worked diligently to bring to you the means to understand, respect and nourish You. As entrepreneurs and business owners we focus on our businesses and our families, our networking and our ideas. But there is another part of our lives that needs attention – ourselves.
Working on this issue has inspired a lot of self-reflection. I realized that the times in my past when I felt lost, or “just not right,” were when I failed to stand in my own power.
A treasured friend of mine recently told me, “Dawn, you need to remember to be nice to you. Give yourself permission to be you, and be confi dent that you are doing right for yourself.” She was right. If I embrace my authentic self and stand in my own power, my work, friendships, family and life will benefit.
This issue will help you take the time to find the power that comes from embracing the Authentic You. Take the “7 Ways to Nourish the Authentic You” and Star Lee Challenge pages from this magazine and hang them on your mirror – just like I plan to do.
This issue is filled with amazing stories, guidance and step-by-step instructions for finding authenticity in your business and your life. Remember that it’s as much about the journey as the destination. Embrace your power and enjoy your discoveries as you reflect on your Authentic Self.
With gratitude,
Dawn Mena

Dawn-
I met you at the Malibu Marketing Group and picked up one of your magazines. I was very impressed with it and thought it had valuable information.
I would like to introduce you to our company-Shiva Sisters. As a complete service company-Shiva Sisters lightens the burden for those who have lost a loved one. We create a meaningful reception/shiva in which the present of family and friends become the important part of healing.
At a moments notice, Shiva Sisters quickly facilitates a reception/shiva .We provide many services not always offered by temples, such as different varieties of food (including Kosher, Kosher-Style and even vegetarian),rentals, minyan service leaders, preparation of funeral pamphlet, email distributions of directions to the site and even video montages. We have over 29 a la carte services which allows families to tailor memorials to their needs and the personality of those who passed away.
Both my partner, Danna Gold Black, and I have experienced some very painful losses in our families, and realized that planning a reception/shiva is very overwhelming. Together with our many years of event planning, corporate planning, sales and marketing, we have the background to help others prepare for this difficult time.My company is a female owned business that has a unique service for the community. We would like to get more information on your magazine and give you more information on our business.
Warm Regards-
